Producer: Emiliano Popayan

Farm: Finca Porris
Elevation: 2310 MASL

At ultra-high altitude, Emiliano's farm sits above the clouds. When we visited, we experienced the heaviest rain and Emiliano was very sad that he couldn't show us how beautiful his farm and coffee plants were (although we got to taste the aji hot pepper grown around his house that tasted like tropical fruits, and we took photo with his whole family of grown kids and grandkids in their family home). A few days later, he travelled an hour to meet us and brought us handmade souvenirs!

Having access to specialty market and especially as a differentiated single lot (instead of lumping as a regional blend) means Emiliano can be rewarded higher prices for his coffee, and this relationship will sustain him and his family, improving their quality of life and giving them a future. This was his first ever year being able to do that, and it took deliberate work and collaboration by many.

We hope you enjoy this comfort cup that represents the hardwork of a grandpa who strives to provide a brighter future for his family, from a humble farm sitting in the clouds, producing uniquely delicious crops!

Frank is truly passionate in coffee, he tirelessly learns and does research in his newly built coffee lab, testing processes to continuously improve his coffee quality. This investment in quality is what accessing specialty coffee market allows for, and we can testify the cup betterment year-after-year!

Before meeting him in person, we didn't imagine Frank being a young man but with a "big brother" vibe and a big heart, taking care of those around him. He went immediately to buy rainboots for our team after one of us tumbled on a slope in the rain.

Producing coffee in his area is a daily threat. Frank had lost family - his own father - who disappeared from the field one day. We pray for Frank's safety and his passionate pursuit in the coffee journey.

The CM process further refines the texture of this Pink Bourbon, giving a chuggable cup of Pourover or a fast & long Espresso!
