El Chocó Farm is located in the village of San Antonio de El Cortijo, within the municipality of Buesaco in Nariño, Colombia. The 4-hectare farm is owned by Maria and her daughter Ximena (whose coffee from her lot we are also currently serving). The surrounding landscape is defined by steep mountains, fertile soils, and abundant streams that sustain a rich ecosystem of native trees and bird species. With an average temperature of 21 °C, the area’s moorland microclimate—marked by high humidity, strong winds, and abundant sunlight—creates ideal conditions for producing coffee with high sugar content and dense, flavorful beans.
We visited Maria and Ximena in June 2025 at their simple hilltop farm with plenty of sunshine and great tasting fruit trees. Their warm hospitality inspires us to represent their coffees and tell their stories well, to create a sustainable future for their family. We hope you enjoy this comfortable coffee as an everyday cup!
